In 2024 we joined its engineering team for a <a href="https://www.earthtoolsmaker.org/projects/earthranger_platform_scaling/">scaling mission</a> on the backend. This post is about the first front of that mission: separating reads from writes, so the database that every map refresh and every collar ping lands on stops being the ceiling on the platform&rsquo;s growth.</p>
